Sound Like Norway is a research project exploring the quality of natural soundscapes in two iconic Norwegian national parks: Rondane and Femundsmarka. The project investigates how people’s experiences of nature are influenced by the sounds they encounter, and whether these match the natural sounds they expect to hear while hiking.
My contribution: bioacoustic and survey data analysis, linking acoustic soundscape data with visitors’ perceptions and experiences of nature.

DIAPHONIA | 2023–2026

DIAPHONIA is a three-year European research initiative bringing together researchers across four countries to address knowledge gaps on the effects of underwater noise on marine organisms. The project covers a broad range of taxa, including cetaceans, invertebrates and commercially important fish species across different European marine regions.
My contribution: research on the effects of boat noise on Atlantic salmon, from experimental design and fish experiments to behavioural, physiological and acoustic data analysis. My work investigated both acute and chronic noise exposure, combining different approaches to understand how salmon respond to anthropogenic noise.

Horizon Europe Twinning project
TWILIGHTED is an international project bringing together research institutes from Norway, Germany and Portugal to strengthen research capacity and collaboration in deep-sea science. The project combines scientific training, knowledge exchange and hands-on experience with technologies used for deep-sea observation and monitoring.
My contribution: coordination and teaching within the Acoustic Systems module of a two-week Technology Training School in Trondheim, combining theoretical training, field deployment of passive acoustic recorders and hands-on acoustic data analysis. As part of the NTNU team, I also contributed to the development of a practical guide based on the workshop.
